Easy Removal Of Soot And Charring Stains From Carpets

Are you tired of the old school carpet cleaning methods? Is it taking too much of your time and effort to keep your carpets clean and hygienic? Are you contemplating hiring a carpet cleaning DC company for the purpose? You’ve almost made up your mind but now. Are you having second thoughts because there is not much time and Christmas is approaching? Don’t be alarmed and there is absolutely no need to get all worked up.

I know how the festive season can get on your nerves especially when you have so many friends and guests coming over. One of the most common mishaps that can happen in this frenzy is a burning candle dropping on your precious carpets or some nearby upholstery. God forbid! The former situation is going to be heartbreaking indeed but the latter too is going to take its toll on you and your carpets. Yes, this is something that is enough to drive you to the edge because if there is a fire in your home, chances are that your carpets will soak in a lot of that smoky odor and soot.

Removing the heavy smoke odor and soot stains from your carpet is a job best left to professionals but there are incidents when you don’t have the time to wait for a carpet cleaning DC crew to arrive at your place and start working. If you have light soot staining from a charred curtain or an out of control fireplace, you can use a shop wet/dry vacuum cleaner to remove as much of the dust as possible. Do not use a household vacuum as its roller brushes will spread the soot further and this can drive it deeper into the carpet fibers.

If you want to clean smaller areas and spots, mix one tablespoon of dishwashing liquid with 2 cups of warm water. Now dip a brush with soft bristles into the solution and start working it from the outside of the stain towards the center. This is to prevent it from spreading. Blot the solution away using a paper towel and repeat the procedure until you see a cleaner carpet. And this is how it’s done!
